The long anticipated announcement for Red Snapper has finally come!
Alabama is planning on 4-day weekends for Red Snapper until the quota is met. This is similar to the 2020 season, which ended up being closed the first week of July. It was reopened in August due to the quota not being met once the data was fully interpreted. The season remained open until the end of 2020 due to the bad hurricane season, which didn't allow the complete quota to be caught quickly.
This is before the start of the Federal Permitted Vessel season, so the snapper bite will be fantastic!
